The Watchdogs Story

The Watchdogs have been making music together in various configurations for over 25 years, and the musical history of the band is a fascinating story - both collectively and individually.

Each member of the band has been performing on the Tri-State music scene for many years, and as a result, The Watchdogs have developed a large and loyal following. This has resulted in many packed clubs and happy club owners!

Few local bands have garnered as much attention and press as The Watchdogs…

and for good reason. In the mid-to-late 90’s The Watchdogs worked closely with Aerosmith founding member Ray Tabano. They  played regularly as "Crazy Raymond & The Watchdogs" throughout the Northeast. Through Raymond and guitarist Lou Merola’s industry connections, The Watchdogs enjoy a reputation as the area band that some of the biggest stars have come to watch and perform with. From Manhattan to Boston, The Watchdogs have headlined venues both large and small, and at home and on the road have been joined by celebrity guests - including Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joey Kramer, Twisted Sister’s Eddie Ojeda, virtuoso guitarist Johnny A, and Vanilla Fudge’s Vince Martell… to name just a few.

In addition, The Watchdogs have appeared on the same bill with artists such as Gilby Clarke of Guns ‘N Roses and Skid Row’s Sebastian Bach.

All of these appearances have shown that The Watchdogs are the real deal – a band of highly regarded well-seasoned players. And it’s their honest approach to their music that has drawn these world-renowned artists to sit in with them - again and again.

The Watchdogs music remains what it has always been – pumped up roots rock and the Blues… pure and simple. Whether evoking the Texas barroom grit of Stevie Ray Vaughan, the melodic jam music of the Allman Brothers, or classic Rock & Roll, The Watchdogs never fail to deliver! It’s exactly this reason why The Dogs continue to attract audiences of all ages.

So, after taking some time off to tend to young families and aging parents, The Watchdogs have returned to the business at hand… making music with a renewed sense of purpose and perspective.

Watchdogs Lou Merola, Larry Rosky, Brian Cady and Jay Fee are back out on the club circuit… doing what they do best… rocking the crowd with the best Rock ‘N Blues in the Tri-State area.
